As you can see throughout our site and our store, we do have a penchant for the antique and vintage. The Kings of Hearts, Queens of Hearts, and Monarchy of Hearts are all inspired by Thomas de la Rue's original playing card designs - but were there any meaning to the originals? It's been speculated that the illustrations on the Queen, King, and Jack court cards relate to historical figures (King Charlemagne, Alexander the Great, etc), that the hearts, clubs, aces, and spades suit cards symbolise all sorts of things from seasons to stages of life, and there are far more varied theories beyond these. All we know is that a game can yield great satisfaction or devastating loss if you know how to play your cards right - much like the court of law.
 
We do also have pride variations of these shirts in our store that we keep up year-round, as we feel that pride should be celebrated at all times - and not for rainbow capitalism.
