From christenings to wakes and celebrating all life events in-between, The Lawyer & The Nurse provide a unique backdrop and stylish interior to enhance any family gathering, whether it be welcoming a new member or remembering the lives of those well lived.


We truly aim to be as accessible as possible, and welcome members of the neurodivergent community. With our sensory dining area, children and adults alike who may become overwhelmed in a busy public venue have the option of joining in the celebrations from a gentler atmosphere.


As with all of our events, it's the personal touches that make getting together special, and all bookings can be tailored to reflect the occasion. For example, we are often approached to design Afternoon Teas that incorporate elements of couples' first dinners together for anniversary celebrations, favourite snacks or treats of those passed but fondly remembered, and many more similar requests.

personalised catering, live music from our baby grand piano, and more.

You could even have your guests to dress to impress, so why not have a

theme to fit the setting? (eg. Downtown Abbey, Bridgerton, The Great Gatsby)

All of our catering is presented in a sophisticated style, but that doesn't limit

you to just scones and finger sandwiches. Just let us know if there's anything

particular you'd like to serve for your guests, be it specifically decorated

cupcakes or the guest of honour's favourite things to eat.

Gender reveals, Baby Showers, Christenings, & Naming Ceremonies

Why not use our beautiful gender reveal cakes as part of your celebratory anticipation of the new arrival? We also have an impressive choice when it comes to christening cakes - or for those who are spiritual rather than religious, why not host your baby naming ceremony in our splendid venue? You could even have a unique and vintage setting for your baby shower - whatever the event, we can always lend it a touch of class and help you plan the event exactly as you want it.

Afternoon Tea

Wakes

When it comes to wakes, we provide a beautiful alternative to the local pub or faceless hotel. Working closely with families, we are happy to accommodate

any requirements that would help you remember your loved one in a fitting manner. Similar to the Silver Wedding Anniversary mentioned earlier,

another request we have received was to make a remembrance perfectly

tailored to our client's grandfather. This included putting together a spread

that recalled his preferences for pork pies, pickles, and black forest gateau - all dressed up beautifully as an Afternoon Tea.
